Morning mist softens the horizon at Kilfarrasy Cove on Waterford’s Copper Coast.

At Kilfarrasy Cove on Waterford’s Copper Coast, a low bank of sea mist moves slowly across the water, partially obscuring Burke’s Island offshore. The landforms appear reduced to simple silhouettes, suspended between sea and sky as the morning light settles.
Colour is muted and restrained. Pale blues and greys dominate the frame, with subtle warmth held high in the cloud layer. The long exposure smooths the surface of the sea, dissolving surface detail and allowing the island shapes to emerge quietly rather than assert themselves.
In print, the separation between mist, water, and distant land becomes more nuanced. Fine tonal transitions within the fog and sky reveal themselves gradually, reinforcing the sense of distance and transience that defines this stretch of coast.
