In October of 2011 I shared what turned out to be an extremely popular print entitled Clear Day Ahead captured near Portsalon in Donegal. I actually took a number of images from that location during my stay in Donegal which have sat in my Archive awaiting a revisit from me. Today I’d like to share an image from that same morning, in fact just 12 minutes after and about 100 feet from where a “Clear Day Ahead” was captured.

As I walked down across the beach I noticed a fresh water inlet feeding the sea and made a mental note to follow this back to its source when I finished with my sunrise shoot. After spending some time at the water’s edge I packed up and followed the inlet back to its source and found this tiny little waterfall as the water streamed out of a solid bed of rock. When I say tiny I mean it was only about 3 feet tall. I was captivated by the early morning side lighting picking up highlights across the black wet rocks which were almost slate like in their textures.
