In Montepulciano, a small Fiat 500 rests quietly along the stone wall beside Ristorante La Grotta, near the Sanctuary of the Madonna di San Biagio. The scene is unhurried and everyday, with soft light settling across worn brickwork, shuttered windows, and the gentle curve of the road.
Colour and texture give the image its character. Muted tones in the masonry are offset by the faded blue of the car, allowing the vehicle to feel embedded in its surroundings rather than set apart from them. The composition balances structure and informality, with architectural lines guiding the eye while small details introduce a sense of lived-in continuity.
In print, the layered surfaces of brick, stone, and plaster retain their individual textures without merging into a single plane. Subtle variations in colour and patina remain distinct, allowing the relationship between the car and its setting to feel tactile and grounded, reinforcing the quiet rhythm of village life beyond the screen.
