Three solitary sea stacks rise from the Atlantic at Playa de Requesinos, each held in stillness by long exposure and soft coastal light, forming a quiet study of form, balance and presence.

the Photograph
On the wide sands of Playa de Requesinos in Asturias, the tide leaves behind a thin reflective skin that turns rock into monument. Across these three photographs, the Atlantic is slowed to a whisper, sky and water drawn into soft bands that allow the sculpted stone to speak without interruption. Each stack stands alone, yet together they form a conversation about mass and silence.
There is a progression through the set. One rock leans forward with quiet tension. Another stretches horizontally, anchored by a sentinel rising at its edge. The third sits low and compact, its fractured crown catching the light. Seen together, they become variations on a single theme: endurance shaped by time, balanced against the vast openness of sea and sky.
In print, the tonal subtlety becomes the unifying thread. The layered greys of cloud and water separate gently from one another, while the textured stone holds crisp detail against the softened tide. The reflections deepen and settle into the paper surface, giving each image weight and presence. Displayed as a collection, the repetition of horizon, still water and sculpted rock creates a measured rhythm across the wall, inviting slow looking and quiet return.

the Print
Printing is treated not as a final step, but as a continuation of the work, refining tone, balance, and texture until the print feels true to the original experience. These print sets are carefully curated, with each image chosen for how it speaks to the others, not as individual statements but as a considered sequence. In print, the relationships between photographs become clearer, inviting slower looking and sustained attention.
Each photograph is produced as a signed Fine Art Giclée print, printed and inspected by me before it leaves my studio. Print sets are offered in three sizes, Companion, Artist, and Studio. This intentional limitation allows the work to be experienced at a scale that suits both the intimacy of paired images and the coherence of the set as a whole.
All prints are made in-house using archival papers from Hahnemühle and Canson, combined with genuine Epson pigment inks, chosen for their tonal subtlety and long-term permanence. Every print is backed by my satisfaction, replacement, and lifetime fade-free guarantees. Find out more about my printing process here.
