Sunset at Ballycurrin Lighthouse #2

Price range: € 35.00 through € 350.00

Galway, Ireland • Oct 31st, 2015

Soft evening light gathers around Ballycurrin Lighthouse on the still waters of Lough Corrib.

the Photograph

At sunset on Lough Corrib in County Galway, Ballycurrin Lighthouse stands quietly at the water’s edge as the day begins to fade. The lake lies calm and reflective beneath a clear sky, with low stonework and shoreline grasses framing the lighthouse in a setting defined by restraint and balance rather than drama.

Colour and stillness shape the photograph. Muted blues and gentle greens in the water and surrounding land are warmed subtly by the last light of day, while the pale stone of the lighthouse catches a soft glow without drawing attention away from its surroundings. The composition favours quiet symmetry, allowing reflection and open space to carry the mood.

In print, the clarity of the water reveals fine detail beneath the surface, while the reflection of the lighthouse holds cleanly without distortion. Subtle tonal transitions across the lake and sky remain smooth and continuous, preserving the image’s sense of calm and measured presence beyond the screen.

the Print

Printing is treated not as a final step, but as a continuation of the work, refining tone, balance, and texture until the print feels true to the original experience. Each photograph is produced as a signed Fine Art Giclée print, carefully inspected by me before it leaves my studio.

Prints are offered in five sizes, Companion, Artist, Studio, Gallery, and Master. The range is intentionally limited, allowing the image to be experienced at a scale that feels right, from an intimate print to a larger piece with stronger presence.

Smaller editions are printed by me personally, while larger works are produced in close collaboration with a trusted fine art printer in Ireland. All prints are made using archival papers from Hahnemühle and Canson, combined with genuine Epson pigment inks, chosen for their tonal subtlety and long-term permanence. Every print is backed by my satisfaction, replacement, and lifetime fade-free guarantees. Find out more about my printing process here.
