A Wicklow Panoramic | As the sun rises on a new day in the Wicklow mountains the moon begins its slow decent. The Sun was just peaking above the mountains out of frame left and that soft light was just kissing the peaks of the mountains giving them this amazing soft pink glow.
Yup, not quite Moonrise over Hernandez but still something that has been on my to-do list for a long time. I wanted to capture a nice sharp image of the moon. Now that I know what I can achieve I think I’ll try something a little more creative next time.
I spent this weekend with Family down in our usual log cabins at Skeagh Lake in County Cavan. I came across this tiny buttercup almost lost inside tall blades of lush green grass that were drenched after a downpour an hour earlier.

The sun slips behind a small cloud as it rises, casting a cool light upon the sea and brings a new day to Howth in Dublin in Ireland. It was just over a year ago when this image was taken, July 3rd, 2010 to be exact. I remember it so well as it was during one of the most magnificent sunrises I witnessed last year.
The violet flower of this Tillandsia ‘Anita’ is in full bloom. This one has been on the back burner since April. I was fascinated by this plant when I came across it in Johnstown Garden Centre in Nass, Kildare.
The Calla Lily must be one of my favorite flowers. It has been a long time since I have attempted captured an image of this Lily as it is one of those flowers I find difficult to do justice too.

A friend and I decided to take a trip down to Hook Head Lighthouse in Wexford to capture a Sunset and Sunrise combo. We’d packed the tent and sleeping bags and even though the weather didn’t promise much we jumped into the car and took the 2.5hr drive.
As I mentioned in my post last week I had an 11 hour photographic marathon a couple of saturdays ago which started with sunrise at Trim Castle in County Meath. As is often the case in Ireland the sunrise did not go exactly according to plan
